Whew, it’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog entry! I’ve been deep in editing land with book two. It’s off to beta readers (if you are SERIOUSLY interested in beta reading, please contact me!) and will be sent to my editor in June! I’m so hacking excited! I found 5 top editors on Reedsy and decided to reach out and request quotes. A couple said they were really picky about choosing clients, so I assumed I’d get maybe a couple that were interested. ALL FIVE were excited and wanted to work with me. I spent a week narrowing them down to two choices… which flip-flopped between three. I kept leaning toward one I enjoyed corresponding with, and that seemed to match my energy. She was an editor with Tor/Macmillan and has two published books through Tor Teen (which would be a dream!). I’m hoping to publish the second book this winter!

Shortly after winning a Literary Titan Silver Award, I learned I had won an International Impact Award for Science Fiction/Fantasy Action. They give monthly awards, so there are many winners. I’ll take what I can get, though!

I almost didn’t know I was nominated and am a finalist for The Montaigne Medal, which is under the umbrella of The Eric Hoffer Award.

Each year, the Eric Hoffer Award presents the Montaigne Medal to the most thought-provoking books. These are books that either illuminate, progress, or redirect thought. The Montaigne Medal is given in honor of the great French philosopher Michel de Montaigne, who influenced people such as William Shakespeare, René Descartes, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Friedrich Nietzsche, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Eric Hoffer. This is an additional distinction beneath the Eric Hoffer Award umbrella.

My nomination email was in my spam folder! They asked for a physical copy of my book for judging for this medal, but it was past the mail-in deadline! I wrote, and they were nice and let me submit it.

I am very active on social media so please follow me on any of those platforms. Links are up top on my website. I’m also going to start posting excerpts/teasers from book two for subscribers.

The artist for The Dreamer is also working on book two’s cover and character art for all the characters! I’m SOOOO excited to show you those.

Thanks so much for following and supporting me. The BEST way to show your support is to write a review on Amazon and Goodreads.

Speaking of reviews, I’m pasting one below that I didn’t know existed… I googled myself and found it. YOUR review doesn’t have to be long, perfect, or 5 stars (unless you honestly think it’s the perfect book, which hardly exists!)… it can say, “Great book if you love sci-fi and fun characters! Can’t wait for the next book!” Easy-peasy. Just something honest, and you can also tell me stuff you didn’t like. I appreciate honesty. More reviews helps my algorithms!
