I have a few pieces of news!

  1. Each year, the Eric Hoffer Award presents the First Horizon Award for superior work by debut authors (i.e the first published book of any type by the author). This is an additional distinction beneath the Eric Hoffer Award umbrella. I received an email this morning stating… Congratulations! Your title has won the First Horizon Award for the current Eric Hoffer Award season. The First Horizon Award is given each year to the highest-scoring books by debut authors. This is a special distinction beneath the Eric Hoffer Award umbrella. (Your book is still being considered for category, press, and grand prizes.) I was a Montaigne Medal Finalist, but I didn’t win… honestly, I was happy to be a finalist! Winning these awards has been strange (and completely awesome) to say the least. I’ve worked on this series for so long that it’s still surreal that it’s out in the world, being read. The fact that it’s winning awards? Twilight Zone! Imposter syndrome is real (it’s a good sign when you have it, because it means you care!), and I’m kind of sick of my first book after reading it 15,743 times before publishing.
  2. My books are for sale at Jenny K, Pegasus on Solano, and Mr. Mopps’ Bookshop locally, so go buy them and support a small indie business!
  3. I will have my FIRST author table at the Bay Area Book Festival on May 30th in downtown Berkeley! More info as I get it.
  4. I received character art from my artist, Mario Robert, and it’s PHENOMENAL!! I will post a gallery below.
  5. I have even more exciting news, but I’m not allowed to release it until May 4th… 🫠😅

Curious about ways to support and help me out besides subscribing to my blog? If you’ve read my book, please leave a review for it on Amazon and Goodreads. I only have 10 on Amazon and 18 ratings/reviews on Goodreads… which isn’t that great for the algorithms.

Are there any SFWA members here? I’m trying to figure out how to get my book nominated for an Andre Norton Nebula Award!! I would literally freak out if The Dreamer was nominated for next year’s award season. I’m new to SFWA, but it’s been a dream of mine for most of my teenage/adult life to become a member. It’d be great if more self-published authors were nominated and won. Let’s help each other out! Follow me on my socials for instant news! Leave me reviews! Thanks for your support! Love you all!
